Processing technology of stainless steel surface

Stainless steel has excellent characteristics such as unique strength, high wear resistance, superior anti-corrosion performance and resistance to rust. Therefore, it is widely used in the industry, food machinery, electromechanical industry, household appliance industry and home decoration, finishing industry. The application and development prospects of stainless steel will become wider and wider, but the application and development of stainless steel is largely determined by the degree of development of its surface treatment technology.

PVD process

PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) Physical Vapor Deposition: refers to the process of using physical processes to achieve material transfer and transferring atoms or molecules from the source to the surface of the substrate. Its function is to spray some particles with special properties (high strength, wear resistance, heat dissipation, corrosion resistance, etc.) on the lower performance matrix, so that the matrix has better performance. Basic methods of PVD: vacuum evaporation, sputtering, ion plating (hollow cathode ion plating, hot cathode ion plating, arc ion plating, active reactive ion plating, radio frequency ion plating, DC discharge ion plating).

Sandblasting

Sandblasting is powered by compressed air to form a high-speed jet beam to spray the blasting material (copper ore, quartz sand, emery, iron sand, sea sand) on the surface of the workpiece to be treated at a high speed, so that the appearance or shape of the workpiece surface is changed.

Sandblasting has strong applications in engineering and surface technology, such as increasing the viscosity of bonding parts, decontamination, and surface matte treatment.

Chemical processing

Chemical processing is a general term for the method of using chemical or electrochemical treatment to generate a layer of stable compounds on the surface of stainless steel. As we often say, electroplating is electrochemical treatment.

Use acid solution, anodic dissolution (electrolysis) alone or in combination to remove rust, and use phosphate treatment, chromate treatment, blackening, anodic oxidation, etc. to form a protective film on the metal surface, all of which belong to this method. This method can achieve complex pattern effects, creating retro or modern design requirements.

Mirror processing

The Mirror processing of stainless steel is simply to polish the surface of the stainless steel. The polishing methods are divided into physical polishing and chemical polishing. Partial polishing can also be performed on the surface of stainless steel. The polishing grades are divided into ordinary polishing, ordinary 6K, fine grinding 8K, and super fine grinding 10K. The mirror surface gives people the feeling of high-end simplicity and fashionable future.

Surface coloring

The coloring of stainless steel not only imparts various colors to stainless steel products, increases the variety of products, but also improves the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the products. There are many methods for surface coloring, and the system is divided into: 1. Chemical oxidation coloring method; 2. Electrochemical oxidation coloring method; 3. Ion deposition oxide coloring method; 4. High temperature oxidation coloring method; 5. Vapor-phase pyrolysis coloring method Law.

Brushed

Brushed is a commonly used technique for stainless steel products. It can be made into straight grains, random grains, threads, corrugations, and spiral grains according to the needs of decoration. Brushed stainless steel surface gives a good hand feeling, delicate luster, wear-resistant surface and individual texture effect. It is widely used in electronic equipment, kitchen appliances, and mechanical equipment.

Powder Coating

Stainless steel powder spraying is substantially different from the coloring mentioned above. Depending on the material, some spray paints may damage the surface oxide layer of stainless steel. But spraying can use a simple process to achieve different colors of stainless steel products, and different spray paints can also be used to change the feel of stainless steel. Like the stainless steel water cups we use every day, the spraying process will be used.
