After completing the stamping parts process, we do many tests to determine the quality of a product. We usually use touch inspection, oilstone polishing, flexible gauze polishing, oil coating inspection, visual inspection, and inspection tools. Clean the surface of the outer cover with clean gauze. The inspector shall wear touch gloves to touch the surface of the stamping along the longitudinal direction of the stamping. This inspection method depends on the inspector’s experience. If necessary, oil stone can polish the detected suspicious area and verify it, but this method is an effective and rapid inspection method.
1. First, clean the surface of the outer cover with clean gauze, and then polish it with oilstone (20 × 20 × 100mm or more). The places with arc and the places challenging to contact are polished with relatively small oilstone (for example, 8 × 100mm semi-circular oilstone)
2. The choice of particle size depends on the surface conditions (such as roughness, galvanizing, Etc.). Fine-grained oilstone is recommended. The polishing direction of the oil stone is basically along the longitudinal direction, and it fits well with the surface of the stamping part. In some particular places, horizontal polishing can be supplemented.
Flexible gauze polishing
Clean the surface of the outer cover with clean gauze. Use a flexible sand net to stick to the surface of stamping parts and polish it to the whole surface longitudinally. Any pockmarks and indentations will be found easily.
Clean the surface with gauze and apply oil evenly on the whole outer surface of the stamping part with a clean brush in the same direction. Put the pressed parts coated with oil under strong light for inspection. It is recommended to erect the pressed parts on the vehicle body. This method makes it easy to find tiny pockmarks, hollows, and ripples on the stamping parts.
Visual inspection is mainly used to find stamping parts’ appearance abnormalities and macro defects.
Inspection of inspection tools
Put the stamping parts into the testing tools, and test the stamping parts according to the operating requirements of the inspection tool manual.
